During the spring and early summer of 2004, I was charged with the process of comparing health insurance providers with the hope of obtaining competitive insurance rates for our employee company. Matt Weaver of Power Group was one of several agents that provided health insurance bids. Of all the companies we sought information from, Power Group provided the best selection of services available for little or no cost that could benefit our corporation.

After becoming our agent of record, Matt began to negotiate on our behalf to lower the 39% increase in rates that our health insurance carrier was proposing. We did end up switching to another insurance provider with a more comprehensive plan. However, Matt managed to bring us an offer from our original company with about a 10% rate of increase. Naturally, we were extremely pleased with his performance. He also helped to add a previously unapproved local pharmacy to our list of approved vendors for our current insurance plan.

Matthew Weaver and Power Group became our health insurance brokers in September of 2004. They helped guide us through a difficult renewal process in the fall of 2004. They helped us move from being self-insured back to a traditional fully insured plan. They have also provided detailed training to our managers on the topics of FMLA, FLSA, and Sexual Harassment. Plus, they now completely administer our Cobra. These services have been invaluable to our company.
